2017 UK union membership levels
The Trade Union Membership 2017: Statistical Bulletin, recently released, shows that:
– Overall, the proportion of UK employees who belong to a union is 23.2%
– It’s the lowest rate since 1995 when it stood at 32.4%.
– The proportion of union membership in the private sector is 13.5%.
– The proportion of union membership in the public sector is 51.8%.
